Axt, Friedrich Fuchs, Prof. H. Sontheimer and Prof. F.H. We scientists kept on visiting an old wooden building at the outskirts of Karlsruhe where sophisticated scientific instruments were manufactured. The shop was run by late Alfred Gr\u00e4ntzel (1908-1992). Alfred Gr\u00e4ntzel has contributed to the development of many technological products, like the first 5 kHz short-wave radio emission bulb in the roaring Twenties. He was an active member of the \u201dStauffenberg Plot\u201d in 1944. His task was to repair the Berlin radio station in case it was damaged after surrender.
